I was somewhat unsure about getting this desk after reading some of the reviews here. I have to say, this is one of the better desks I have purchased lately and especially for the price. My only complaint is it arrived earlier than Amazon had originally told me. Why was this bad? On the day it was to come, I am not usually home and if I'm not home, UPS would have left this at the office. It would have been a pain to get it back to my apartment. Luckily I was able to make it home a few minutes before the UPS guy came. Plus I had to help him get it up the stairs to my apartment. I didn't seem that heavy to me, but then I am used to lugging up packaged wooden furniture up the stairs by myself.Packaging was very good and solid. It took me a good 10-minutes just to get this thing unpacked. Very large and thick outer packaging, inside the glass pieces were sandwiched in tissue paper and Styrofoam. All four glass pieces arrived intact with no issues. The metal pieces were all in good condition, with some very minor scratches (not really noticeable once assembled). This arrived in much better condition than some of the wooden furniture I have purchased lately from my local big box retailer. Everything was there plus four extra suction cups and 2 extra bolts. I couldn't find the Allen Wrench at first. Midway during the build it magically appeared, but since I use my own tools it was not a big deal.Assembly was a bit of a challenge, but for the wrong reason. I have to agree with other reviewers, the instructions are not the best and are poorly written. They keyboard tray (more about this later) was the biggest pain to put together, only because I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing and the instructions needed better illustrations. While it can be put together solo, it would be go easier and faster if another person assisted. I discovered when I went to put the glass in I had mounted the keyboard tray upside down, not too big of a deal as was able to pop it out of the tracks, flip it over and slide it back in. For those having issues getting the glass to fit into place on the desktop, don't tighten the end bolts all the way until after you put the glass in. I noticed one of the glass pieces is a little off, but since I'll be moving in the next month, I am not going to worry about it now.ETA April 2012. Since I moved the desk has become a spare desk, mainly for me to setup my laptop and place to stack trust, tax and new home documents. I went back to having my dual monitors on a different desk as the monitors are so huge they didn't sit well next to each other on this desk. Once I get to my new house next month it will still be a spare desk. While I won't be needing it for my laptop, I will be using it to place a small flat screen LED TV atop. The 'keyboard' tray is great for holding binders and books. The CPU caddy is neat, and looks better than having the tower sit on a piece of wood on the carpeting. That was the easiest thing to put together, just attach the feet and you're done. The "Keyboard" tray is a sore subject with a lot of reviewers. Truth in advertising here, the manufacturer says it is a "keyboard" tray, NOT a "mouse and keyboard tray". However, I do agree that it could've been better. Moving the mounting brackets 3-inches closer to the ends on each side would have added 6-inches to the length of the tray giving enough room for a mouse. So I had spend $3 and invest in a mouse pad (optical mice won't work on glass), worth it given what a great desk this is.Bottom line, this worth every penny I have paid for this desk and other than the poorly written assembly directions I have no other issues.
